You can delete your Instagram account either temporarily (by deactivating it) or permanently. Here's a guide for both methods:

1. Temporarily Deactivate Your Instagram Account:

Temporarily deactivating your account will hide your profile, photos, comments, and likes until you log back in.

Steps:

  1. Open Instagram in a browser (this option is not available through the app):

  2. Go to your profile:

    • Click on your profile icon in the top right corner.
    • Select Edit Profile.
  3. Temporarily disable your account:

    • Scroll down and click on "Temporarily disable my account" at the bottom right.
  4. Choose a reason:

    • Instagram will ask you to select a reason for deactivating your account. Choose an option from the dropdown menu.
  5. Enter your password:

    • Enter your password to confirm.
  6. Click on "Temporarily Disable Account":

    • After entering your password, click "Temporarily Disable Account."

To reactivate your account, simply log back in.

2. Permanently Delete Your Instagram Account:

Permanently deleting your account will remove your profile, photos, videos, comments, likes, and followers permanently. Once done, it cannot be undone.

Steps:

  1. Go to Instagram's account deletion page:

  2. Log in to your account:

    • If you're not already logged in, you'll be prompted to log in.
  3. Choose a reason for deletion:

    • Select a reason for deleting your account from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter your password:

    • Re-enter your password to confirm.
  5. Click on "Permanently delete my account":

    • Once you've selected a reason and entered your password, click "Permanently delete my account."

Your account will be deleted permanently. If you change your mind after deletion, you won’t be able to recover it or create a new account with the same username.
